No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor in the world by many of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about poker. He would tell his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He did not let the negative feedback from others kill his ambition of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.

He started competing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing passion for poker. Phil states that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. He knows he makes errors every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
