No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn whatever he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people destroy his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

He began playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first few years for Phil were a teaching period and winning was not a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal passion for the game of poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making blunders every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Even though Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes winning cash games on a regular basis.
