Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker player on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching turning one. His grandfather taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people annihilate his goal of becoming one of the best poker players in the world.

He started playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a learning experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal thing at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. He says that he is picking up skills every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. He knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers winning cash games on a regular basis.
