His papa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to discover anything he could about poker. He would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the detrimental feedback from others kill his goal of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.

He began playing intently after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a regular basis.
