NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker competitor in the world by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught him one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover every little thing he could about the game. He routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse comments from other people kill his dream of becoming one of the best poker players on the planet.

Phil started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for the game of poker. He states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his success. Phil knows he makes errors in each session of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a regular basis.
