NL Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker competitor in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning one. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup everything he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the negative comments from other people annihilate his ambition of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.

He started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed many of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to hard work and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil says that he’s learning every day and is very abashed about his accomplishments. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a normal basis.
