Hold’em is all about individuals and position. All knowledgeable Holdem players concur that position in no restriction Texas Holdem is critically significant. Showing your hole cards in late spot could be much more profitable than in starting poker position. The reason seeing that much more information is gathered right before acting.
As an example, I was playing a $1-$2 no limit money match at a local spot. I limped in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer marker, so I could see a little action. Flop came down A-A-4. A person in starting spot laid a fifteen dollar bet. Two players drop out and it was my turn. I really should have folded, but something appear to be a little off. I ID’d this player as a weak-tight player, and typically if he had the biggest hand he would simply check, so I called.
The turn came down with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My opponent placed an additional bet of $20. I deliberated a tiny bit, but decided to re-raise an additional $30thirty dollars on top of his twenty dollars. He dropped out and I take the chips.
Playing late spot gives you an insight into where you stand by observing how players behave and wager. On the flip side, people at early spot can use their poker position to check-raise the last seated competitors and corner them afterwords at the end. In Holdem, both spots, late and starting should be wagered cautiously.
